Terms and Conditions 

Traditional Martial Arts Institute (Legacy Martial Arts Institute) 

1. Membership and Enrolment

 

• Eligibility: Membership is open to individuals who meet the age and physical requirements for their specific program. Minors must have a parent or legal guardian sign the agreement.

• Code of Conduct: Students are expected to uphold the values of respect, discipline, and integrity. Legacy Martial Arts reserves the right to terminate membership for disruptive behaviour, bullying, or unsportsmanlike conduct.

 

2. Tuition, Payments and Annual Licence

 

• Billing Cycle: Tuition is billed on a monthly basis via [Auto-Pay/Manual Payment] on the [1st/5th] of each month.

• No Refunds: Tuition pays for a spot in the class, not attendance. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed classes.

• Licence Fee

(a) The member must pay a fee in respect of an annual Licence and Insurance. This covers his World Taekwondo Council Annual Membership/Licence and Insurance.

(b) The Licence must be renewed on an annual basis and it is the Member’s responsibility to ensure that this has been carried out.

(c) The Licence is not transferable.

(d) The Member is not entitled to a refund on the Licence under any circumstances at any time.

(e) All gradings will be recorded in the Member’s Licence Book..

(f) The Licence shall only be valid at Traditional Martial Arts Institute (Legacy Martial Arts Institute) , and when the Member is under the supervision of a Traditional Martial Arts Institute (Legacy Martial Arts Institute) instructor.

 

3. Cancellations and Freezes

 

• Cancellation Policy: To cancel a membership, a written notice must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the next billing cycle.

• Membership Freezes: Memberships may be frozen for medical reasons (with a doctor’s note) or extended travel for a period of up to 3 months per year.

 

4. Safety and Liability Waiver

 

Notice: Martial arts (including Kobudo) involve physical contact and inherent risk of injury.

• Assumption of Risk: By enrolling, the student (or guardian) acknowledges these risks and waives Traditional Martial Arts Institute (Legacy Martial Arts Institute) of liability for injuries sustained during training, sparring, or competitions.

• Medical Fitness: Students must disclose any medical conditions or physical limitations prior to training. 

 

5. Uniforms and Equipment

 

• Dress Code: Students must wear the official Traditional Martial Arts Institute (Legacy Martial Arts Institute) uniform (Gi/Dobok) and appropriate belt rank during all sessions.
• Safety Gear: Protective gear (mouth guards, headgear, etc.) is mandatory for all sparring sessions. To ensure Fit, Form and Quality, the Traditional Martial Arts Institute (Legacy Martial Arts Institute) insist safety gear be purchase directly from us.

 

6. Media Release

 

• Traditional Martial Arts Institute (Legacy Martial Arts Institute) Legacy Martial Arts Institute reserves the right to use photographs or video footage taken during classes or events for promotional purposes (social media, website, brochures). To opt-out, please provide written notice upon enrolment.
